INSPIR[E](REN) - INSPIRATI(E)[ON]
In 2018, we initiated INSPIR[E](REN) - INSPIRATI(E)[ON], a visiting artist program for artists who do not use glass as a primary medium or experimentally. The open call received … from artists from … countries. The jury comprised of Koen Vanmechelen, Jeroen Maes, and John Moran chose three artists to work in the studio as artists in residence. The selected artists were: Jocelyne Prince, Monali Meher, and Katarzyna Klich.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE
FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE has been introducing a new public to the glass community and the processes of glass making weekly for over three years. This project draws approximately 30 - 40 people per week to experience the glassmaking process and the teamwork involved. We offer explanations to the guests while they enjoy drinks from our bar. Each week we create a variety of unique works of art and regularly host visiting artists to work together with our team.
visiting artists
Over the four years the studio has been active, we have had nearly 40 visiting artists ranging from public demonstrations to artists in residence. Gent Glas has had the pleasure to host Charlyn Reynolds, Angus Powers, Steven Ciezki, Deborah Czeresko, Einar and Jamex de la Torre, Susan Taylor Glasgow, and many more.
